Event Photography and Videography
Event photography and videography by impactvisuALS
impactvisuALS does both. Just so you know.
I recently did the photography for a Christening party for the lovely folk over at the Little Britain Pub Company at their venue in Wymeswold, Leicestershire. Lesley and Mike, one half of the team that owns all the pubs, were celebrating the christening of their two kids, Connie and Billy. It was that gloriously sunny day in July that came completely out of nowhere, that took all of us by surprise and left a good proportion of the country with very red faces. Anyway, it turned out to be absolutely perfect weather to drink Prosecco and celebrate with friends and family.
The brief was fly on the wall photography, mixed with some venue photography to add to the events page for The Windmill Inn. They do parties! It’s the perfect place for it, too.

Portraits of kids
The kids were all having a great time at the christening and so I made sure to get loads of shots of them having fun – always nice for the parents to look back on. There were also a few group portrait shots to do. This can sometimes be a challenge when the sun is very high in the sky at the middle of the day; it’s not great for shadows, and can cast some quite harsh ones over people’s features. We managed to find some good spots in the beer garden, though, and managed to get some lovely mementos of the day.
Alex from Tale got in touch with me the other week. We’d done some shooting together in the past, at Athena in Leicester, where he’d also happened to meet a guy who does wedding videography. I was put in touch with Rahim from Reel Dream Weddings, to be his second shooter for an Indian wedding in Nottingham. The venue, Colwick Hall, is an amazing Grade ii listed hotel in Nottingham, that dates back to as early as the 1300s when it was owned by the Byron family. Anyway, history aside, the job sounded fun, and Rahim made a great impression over the phone.
Cut to the wedding day itself, and Rahim was great to work with. The day certainly kept us busy, and was very enjoyable. It was interesting to see how other photographers and videographers work, and it was a change to work at an Indian wedding. I loved how colourful it was! I also met Khalid from ESAT Photography, who was doing the stills for the day. Rahim and Khalid’s calm approach to the day was refreshing, and they’d obviously worked together many times before. Here’s Rahim with his drone:

At the start of October I photographed the 30th birthday celebrations of Libby, from MAS (see the ‘People’ section on my homepage to see where Libby has featured before). The party/pub crawl started at The Manor House in Quorn, and made its way to Nottingham via an awesome red double decker party bus. I was there to photograph guests arriving, the speech, the cutting of the cake (which didn’t quite happen because it was quickly established that everyone was in the mood for alcohol over food), and then the first leg of the bus journey. The party was in full swing when I left the group at the White Hart in Loughborough.
