A very Nordic Xmas
So, it’s been a criminally long time since I last updated my video and photo blog. It’s also probably way past the acceptable period of time in which to wish people a Happy New Year, but I’m going to do it anyway:
Happy New Year!!!
December was a busy one for me, and I’m still settling back into a normal routine, hence taking so long to get back to my writing. I’ve mentioned before doing the odd bit of work for the Orange tree Group, and last month I photographed the Nordic themed Christmas parties put on by the events team.
I’ve known Mel and Jules (Orange tree Events Team extraordinaire) for a little while now, having worked with them at numerous weddings over the summer, so it was great to be back on board with the Christmas parties, and get the chance to shoot people partaking in lots of fun, food and fizz.
The brief was pretty broad – get the decor, the food, the drinks, people enjoying themselves, etc, so I busied myself capturing what I could while on the move. Admittedly, parts of it were challenge, as any event photography is when you have to capture things as they happen, including getting shots of the food as it was being served from the kitchen. Bouncing a flash was hard work due to the ceilings being high, and the walls being fairly far away from all the fun… that and them also being yellow, so I picked up some colour casting on a number of shots. However, it wasn’t anything that couldn’t be fixed in post, and due to the nights being both successful and lots of fun, it was a highly enjoyable job!
So, a big congrats to the team for pulling off nine nights filled with happy customers. And for you, some photos:
